2. Proverbs 13:17
A wicked messenger falleth into
mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
What’s the chief difference between the two?
Faithfulness or Trustworthiness
“Anyone who accepts a duty, whether it be large or
small, should perform it faithfully. I have failed
this time, but it will not happen again. My duties
as king await me.”
King Alfred -- From King Alfred and the Cakes taken from the Book of Virtues.
If you have failed, say so,
and don’t make a habit of it.

3. THE BOY WE WANT
A boy that is truthful and honest
And faithful and willing to work;
But we have not a place that we care to disgrace
with a boy that is ready to shirk.
Wanted -- a boy you can tie to,
A boy that is trusty and true,
A boy that is good to old people,
And kind to the little ones too.
3
4. A boy that is nice to the home folks,
And pleasant to sister and brother,
A boy who will try when things go awry
To be helpful to father and mother.
These are the boys we depend on -Our hope for the future, and then
Grave problems of state and the world's work await
Such boys when they grow to be men.

5. Luke 19 12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman
went into a far country to receive for himself a
kingdom, and to return. 13 And he called his ten
servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said
unto them, Occupy till I come. 14 But his citizens
hated him, and sent a message after
him, saying, We will not have this man to reign
over us. 15 And it came to pass, that when he was
returned, having received the kingdom, then he
commanded these servants to be called unto
him, to whom he had given the money, that he
might know how much every man had gained by
trading.
5
6. 16 Then
came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath
gained ten pounds. 17 And he said unto
him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast
been faithful in a very little, have thou authority
over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound
hath gained five pounds. 19 And he said likewise to
him, Be thou also over five cities. 20 And another
came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy
pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: 21 For
I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou
takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest
that thou didst not sow.
6
7. 22 And
he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth
will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou
knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I
laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into
the bank, that at my coming I might have required
mine own with usury?
To be faithful has nothing to do with how much
responsibility we have been given; nor with our
gifts and talents with which we are blessed.
7
8. We may have little talent or ability,
But we can be faithful to use what
we have in the service of God.
Be faithful to your family, your
employer, your church, and to the True
God.

9. 18 Poverty
and shame shall
be to him that refuseth
instruction: but he that
regardeth reproof shall be
honored.
Will you learn, or do you think you already know?
Do you have a teachable spirit, or are
you a hard-headed know-it-all?
It matters!
9
10. 19 The
desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but
it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
Everyone wants the same things:
Joy, peace, love
But a fool thinks he can have them through sin.
Hebrews 11 24-25 By faith Moses, when he was
come to years, refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer
affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the
pleasures of sin for a season;

11. John, Tom, and James
by Charles Henry Ross
John was a bad boy, and beat a poor cat;
Tom put a stone in a blind man’s hat;
James was the boy who neglected his prayers;
They’ve all grown up ugly, and nobody cares.
They all thought they were having fun by being
mean, but it didn’t turn out well.
It never will!
11
12. We enjoy life through faith in God and
obedience to His Word.
Willingly do all that God teaches us to do.
Do nothing that God’s Word counsels against.
Walk amiably
with the Lord.
