Activities

STRAWBERRY SMOOTIE
Strawberry smoothies can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries.
If you're using frozen strawberries, look for presliced frozen strawberries, because they are easier to blend. If
using fresh strawberries for this strawberry smoothie recipe, add ice to achieve a milkshakelike texture.
INGREDIENTS:
• 2 cups frozen unsweetened strawberries
• 1/2 cup cranberry raspberry juice
• 1/4 cup orange juice
• 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
• 2 fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
PREPARATION:
Place the strawberries in the bottom of a blender, or food processor, fitted with a metal blade.
Add the juices.
Top with the yogurt and puree until smooth.
Pour into glasses and garnish with each with a strawberry.
Serve immediately.

the words in red are verbs commonly used in recipes. As for grated and marinated it's quite
easy to guess the meaning, but what's the meaning of sliced and diced?
try to guess it by thinking to the nouns where the verbs come from: slice and dice

IDIOMS
To slice and dice is to break a body of information
down into smaller parts or to examine it from
different viewpoints so that you can understand it
better. In cooking, you can slice a vegetable or other
food or you can dice it (which means to break it down
into small cubes). One approach to dicing is to first
slice and then cut the slices up into dices. In data
analysis, the term generally implies a systematic
reduction of a body of data into smaller parts or views
that will yield more information. The term is also
used to mean the presentation of information in a
variety of different and useful ways.
This term can be compared to drilldown , which is the
process of dividing an information area up into finer
and finer layers in a hierarchy, but with the purpose
of narrowing in to one small area or item.
