John: Explain the avenues of information exchange within the Community.
1- Increase participants’ understanding of larger context for ePortfolios (different stakeholders, different needs and benefits, common needs and benefits across stakeholders, readiness, factors influencing success)
2- Give end user community the opportunity to communicate about shared high-priority functional needs related to student success, with ePortfolio application developers.
3- Explore technology-based characteristics necessary for successful implementations - e.g. these were the specific features that contributed/would contribute to the success of the implementation
4- Advance development of a community of practice that will create a network of people to communicate about issues, common problems, and solutions for the use of ePortfolios, to share best practices, to collaborate on work of benefit to the community (identified during the summit), and to provide an ongoing voice for users in the development of ePortfolio applications and standards
This is where ePort CA is going – standards work
