Ric Battellino
Deputy Governor
Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA)
Ric Battellino has been Deputy Governor of the RBA
since 14 February 2007. He is also Deputy Chairman of
the Board, and Chairman of the RBA's Risk
Management Committee.
Ric(cardo) was born in San Daniele del Friuli in Italy, but
migrated to Australia with his parents and grew up in
Queensland. He has an Honours in Economics from
The University of Queensland and
was a Sloan Fellow at the London Business School in
1981 and 1982.
Ric
joined the RBA in 1973 and rose through the ranks to become H
ead of the Domestic Markets Department in 1989 and then two years later he took on the position of Head of
the International Department. In 1994 he was promoted to Assistant Governor (Financial Markets). Ric has two
children and lives in Sydney.
