At We use at with times or point of time
At 5 o’clock at midnight at lunchtime
Example: Tom usually leaves work at five o’clock
2. We also use at in these expressions:

• At Christmas /at Easter
• At the moment/at
present
• At the same time
• At the age of…..
• I don’t like going out at
night.
• Will you be here at the
week-end?
• We give each other
presents at Chrismas.
• Mr benn is busy at the
moment/at present.
• Ann and I arrived at the
same time.
• Tom left school at the
age of 16/at 16
3. We use on with dates and days
. On 12 March
. On friday
they got married on 12 March.
We also say:
On Friday on Sunday afternoon on Monday
evening etc.
I usually go out on Monday evening
4. In we use in for longer periods of
time (for example: months/ years/
seasons)
