Web accessibility is a growing priority across industries, and in light of recent lawsuits, the threat of non-compliance in higher education is very real. However, bringing an entire organization up to accessibility standards can be daunting. In this webinar, David Berman, the #1 rated speaker on the topic of web accessibility standards as well as an international expert in the field, will provide you with strategies for meeting WCAG 2.0 standards in various design platforms. David's presentation will focus on building accessibility into your design process, with tips for web, Office, InDesign, and PDF. David provides not only a deep understanding of web standards and requirements, but also a passion for accessibility. His enthusiastic and entertaining presentation style will give you a new perspective on the importance of web accessibility, and his expert approach to developing an accessible infrastructure will provide you with a roadmap of what needs to be done to meet your accessibility goals. This webinar will cover: - An overview of WCAG 2.0 guidelines and conformance levels - Current legal requirements for web accessibility - How WCAG 2.0 will impact the Section 508 refresh - Why accessibility matters - Tips for creating accessible PDFs and web content - Accessibility tips for Office, Acrobat, and InDesign

Over the last few years, many institutions of higher education have faced legal action for inaccessible IT. If an ADA or Section 504 accessibility complaint is filed at your school, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR) share the responsibility for enforcing the law. They also have the authority to conduct a compliance audit in lieu of a complaint. In this webinar, accessibility leaders at three different universities will discuss what to expect in a DOJ or OCR review, as well as the lessons they've learned at their institutions in resolving complaints about inaccessible IT. Learning from schools that have successfully resolved DOJ/OCR complaints, this webinar will provide valuable insight into how campus communities can work to ensure the accessibility of IT. This presentation will cover: Schools that have faced legal action for inaccessible IT Approaching accessibility and universal design at the university level A timeline of the OCR complaint against University of Montana University of Montana's resolution agreement University of Montana's current approach to accessibility A timeline of the DOJ inquiry at University of Colorado Boulder UC Boulder's response and strategy for accessibility What UC Boulder learned from their experience Key takeaways from resolving DOJ and OCR complaints

I gave this talk at Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco on April 23, 2008. The presentation covers historical uses of email in applications as well as some of the new and innovative ways that companies such as TripIt are integrating email in to their applications. The presentation also goes over some of the practical concerns and implementation issues you will likely encounter while building an email based web application.

The IAM program needs to align behind the shift towards ITaaS, building the platform for execution and supporting transformation and migration activities. CIOs should keep informed through a relevant IAM capability roadmap in order to make calculated decisions on where investments should be made. Ongoing investments in the IAM program are crucial in order to fill capability gaps, keep up-to-date with support and license agreements and make opportunistic progress on the strategic roadmap. In this talk, Steve discusses recent experiences and lessons learned in preparing for and pitching VMware’s CIO on enterprise IAM program initiatives.

In the field of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Data is more important than Technology. A poorly designed data model can cause an IAM initiative to fail even with massive investments in technology products. Yet Data usually receives only superficial treatment, and many practitioners seem unaware of the basic principles to follow when designing Identity-based systems. This presentation is a succinct summarisation of 50 data-related principles that an organisation overlooks at its peril.

We propose an automatic recommendation platform for e-commerce businesses based on multicriteria analysis and hybrid content-based - collaborative filtering, tailored to e-shops and cross-product category analysis, build with Web 2.0 concepts in mind. We are going to describe the input variables as well as methods to obtain them without frustrating customers, possible ways to pre-process the data and create a common query interface, suggest the recommendations output across a variety of scenarios and finally discuss metrics that can be used to measure the real return of the system.

Three experiments I have done with data science. Related to text analysis, integration. Focusing on the learning's rather than details on how it was done with source code. I feel it is important to see this subject in relation to business problems rather than as pure branch of Statistics. Focusing on what has to be done enabled me to find the right solution from a complicated and very interesting subject.

What is valuable about a single identity, why is that something people want and how achievable is it? As people work across multiple systems they encounter an equal number of barriers where they must authenticate or otherwise prove their identity in order to gain access. Ideally we always want to be showing the same information about ourselves regardless of where someone searches or how we are found. In this session we’ll discuss the issues behind both creating a single identity and simplifying authentication. We’ll also review the risks you need to be aware of, the technologies available to you and the importance of good and current personal information. This is an updated presentation that includes some speaker notes for clarity

While single melodic lines are simpler and more straightforward, they still allow for creativity and emotional expression. Meanwhile, the simultaneous occurrence of multiple melodic lines can create a more intricate and complex musical structure that challenges the listener's ear and engages their attention.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
