Not for primary document management (DMS) Not for working together in execution of business projects Not for rapid communication purposes (e.g. Lotus Sametime / Phone / video) Not intended as an Extranet As this is a highly visible project and the first fully shared project across IMTECH ICT companies it is important – for successful launch – to keep the solution as simple as possible but with high and quick benefits for the users.

Provides collaboration tools such as blogs, wikis and forums to help users discuss issues and share knowledge. Minimizes training requirements by integrating seamlessly with groupware solutions such as Microsoft Outlook and IBM Lotus Notes. Maximizes flexibility andeasily extended with widgets and web services, runs on a variety of platforms, and can also be delivered via a software-as-a-service model.

23. A few requirements The system must be planned for 2.000 users serving all users of the ICT companies It is not a business critical (Cat. A) system but it provides high value for daily business (Cat. B), therefore a clustering of components is not planned in the first phase. A later rollout to all IMTECH employees must be possible, therefore scalability is important. Mechanisms provided by the products involved contain: Relocation of services to separate systems Clustering of components & Load Balancing
24. A few technical things Due to the fact that there are several companies involved there are several directories and directory types which need to be integrated. The directory used for Connections is an LDAP compliant type which could be Lotus Domino or MS AD. To be open for changes and modifications because of organizational changes inside IMTECH group the directory separately aggregated and therefore stand-alone. Tivoli Directory Integrator is used to gather all relevant data and is part of the Lotus Connections Suite.
