2. The Global Education Conference is a collaborative, world-wide
community initiative involving students, educators, and organizations at all
levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building
education-related connections around the globe while supporting cultural
awareness and recognition of diversity.
The conference seeks to present ideas, examples, and projects related to
connecting educators and classrooms with a strong emphasis on promoting
global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards
solving real–world problems.Through this event, it is our hope that
attendees will challenge themselves and others to become more active
citizens of the world. Let us learn, question, create, and engage in
meaningful, authentic opportunities within a global context!

• Encourage colleagues and help them to complete
proposals.

5. iEARN’s Involvement
• The “regular” Global Education Conference
• iEARN Conference
• iEARNYouth Summit
• Two different places to submit proposals; one is for
iEARN members only
• Most sessions will be open to everyone, but iEARN has
some sessions planned that pertain just to their members
• iEARN is launching a new online community on August
15th

6. Good Proposals...
• are mindful of the conference mission.
• relate to global collaboration.
• are detailed with a specific outline.
• include relevant links.
• are enticing to potential attendees.
• have proper spelling and formatting.
• are in the proper category with the proper tags as
per the instructions in the call for proposals.

7. Support the
Conference
• Send out press materials to schools, non-profits and
governmental agencies to encourage their
participation.
• Use social media to regularly spread the word. Our
hashtag is #globaled12.
• Help colleagues submit proposals.
• Engage GEC community members on our web site.
Serve as a role model for other potential global
collaborators by being an active participant in our
community.

• Dissemination of press materials to

• Translation of press materials. Send copies
to Lucy and she will post them.
• Join our volunteer group to help moderate
the conference (see GROUPS in the
network.)

• Keynote suggestions from beyond North
America (use the form under Keynotes in
the 2012 Conference menu).
