Implementing an environment-friendly policy in a company not only preserves the
natural resources and reduces the impact on the environment, but it also cuts the total
energy costs of the business. Greener offices believe that recycling reduces their
business expenses in many ways. In office furniture, in particular, LEED buildings use
recycled materials such as rubber and scrap wood.

3. Some of the companies also switched to technologies which will help them to rely less
on natural resources. Some of these forms are solar hot water systems and rainwater
tanks. Last year, LEED was most popular in California, with 618 building projects
complying with the environmental standard.

In a study published by the Natural Marketing Institute (NMI), consumers were more
likely to purchase products and services from companies who are more mindful of their
environmental and societal impact. According to NMI, 68 million adult Americans base
their purchasing decisions on social and environmental values.
Companies in Utah believe that by promoting environmental methods, they can
potentially set their businesses apart from others. This will also improve their
sustainability and reduce their dependence on natural resources, compared to their
competitors who are dealing with rising costs.
By practicing an environment-friendly policy in their companies, these businesses
believe that they will have a greater chance of achieving long-term success.
