C.M CASH ELEMENTARY LESSON PLANS- WEEKLY   DAY OBJECTIVE INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES MATERIALS/ACTIVITIES NOTES MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY . THURSDAY FRIDAY TEKS 4.5A 4.5B TEKS 4.5A 4.5B TEKS 4.5A 4.5B TEKS 4.5A 4.5B TEKS 4.5A 4.5B 4.5B Predict the changes caused by heating and cooling, such as ice becoming liquid water and condensation forming on the outside of a glass of ice water. Measure, Compare, Contrast OBJECTS BY OBSERVABLE  PROPERTIES OF THE MATERIALS FROM WHICH THEY ARE MADE Including, but not limited to: size - larger and smaller And heavier and lighter (more mass,less mass); Shape; Color; Texture TLW Identify the states of matter and its properties TLW compare and contrast objects through observable physical properties of matter.  TLW explain the physical properties of matter by comparing two objects 4.5 The student knows that matter has measurable physical properties, and those properties determine how matter is classified, changed, and used. 4.5A Measure, compare, and contrast physical properties of matter including size, mass, volume, states (solid, liquid, gas), temperature, magnetism, and the ability to sink or float. Predict CHANGES CAUSED BY HEATING AND COOLING Including but not limited to: -becoming liquid water -condensation forming on the outside of a glass of ice water 1st SW - Physical Properties of Matter Engage: Use pg 4-5  Explore/Explain 1: Float, Sink or Splink Use pgs 11-14 * to completely address the standard, prior to testing each substance model observing the object for color and texture. Have students make these observations for each of the tested substances and record their observations on their recording sheets or in their journals. Explore/Explain 2: Egg-citing Eggs Activity Use pgs 15-17 Explore/Explain 3: Ships Ahoy! Pg 17 Elaborate: Deep Sea Diver use p17 Evaluate:  Performance Indicator(s)  Complete a double-cell diagram to compare and contrast the physical properties of two different objects (4.5A). Key Understanding : Objects may be compared and contrasted by their physical properties.
