Martin Luther King Jr.'s family has carried on his legacy of fighting discrimination through nonviolent means by establishing the King Center for Nonviolence and Social Change in 1968. The Center was created by MLK's wife Coretta Scott King and their four children to continue MLK's work promoting civil rights and social justice after his assassination. Their son Martin Luther King III has led the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in continuing MLK's message of nonviolence.
