 Some verbs are slightly irregular and they
will have a vowel change in the stem
 These verbs are called Stem Changers
 There are four different types of stem
changers
 E changes to IE
 O changes to UE
 E changes to I
 U changes to UE

5. E to IE Stem Changers
 The vowel E in the stem
changes to an IE in all
conjugated forms except for the
nosotros
 NOSOTROS IS NORMAL
 Examples:
preferir
prefiero preferimos

6. O to UE Stem Changers
 The vowel O in the stem
changes to an UE in all
conjugated forms except for the
nosotros
 NOSOTROS IS NORMAL

7. E to I Stem Changers
 The vowel E in the stem
changes to an I in all conjugated
forms except for the nosotros

 The vowel U the stem changes
to an UE in all conjugated forms
except for the nosotros
