Work here in school but in spare time do lot of crafts, one is card making Have been making as long as I can remember, still have some made when at primary Have had cards published in some craft magazines
Some of my work Like to come up with ideas different from what’s in shops
Xmas cards based on where I’ve been on holiday - Japan
Basics, but there’s a lot more available. I buy online and from craft shops Like to buy pre-made blank cards, as it gives a professional finish
Better results come with time and experience Getting to know your materials
The design we will do today is based on this idea of simplicity
Different textures possible
We will do this today – we will all work from a basic design but everyone’s card will be different
Come up with your own original ideas
These are some of the things I have done Getting postcards and xmas cards professionally printed Commissions – this is when someone says, “Could you make a special card for me to give to someone, they like Scotty dogs” or something like that I’ve sold stuff online on a site called Etsy, which is a bit like Ebay but for crafts Had crafts published in quite a few magazines, and even on the front cover:
Very rough sketch is all I do
Neaten up the sketch, make it bolder with black pen
I lay the template on top and cut out both together. But you can cut template first and draw round it.
I rub an ink pad along the edges. It gives a slight shadow and makes them stand out from the background
I use a glue pen – it is good for fine details
This is design we will do. Template in pack. Cut out and draw round it on back of coloured paper. Girly paper? – remember card is not for you, it could be for your girlfriend or mum. Glue snow to card and arrange trees. Groups of 3 look good. Any paper left – think of your own ideas.
