- Once you have advanced to candidacy, you may become eligible for more funding opportunities. Advancing to candidacy means you have completed your department’s coursework requirements, examination requirements and teaching requirements and that you are ready to research, write and complete your dissertation. This status is usually also referred to as ABD status, an acronym meaning All But Dissertation.

Pivot offers a searchable database of 250000 records representing over 400,000 individual funding opportunities from numberous sponsors across all disciplines. Using Pivot, you can create accounts, lists, and sign up for personalizes email funding alerts on previously saved searches.
