15. Why Measure Social
Media?
To effectively use social
media, clubs, teams and organizations
need to measure and analyze social
media!
You can NOT prove value or success
without measuring!
16. What Should You Look At?
What YOU do
What OTHERS say about you
What your COMPETITORS (other
clubs, teams, organizations) do
17.
Analyzing what posts gain the most interactions
allow you to create voice and create posts that
will gather greater interaction in the future
22.
What are the other organizations in your area
doing on social media, how big are their
audiences?
23. Why Will This Benefit You?
Move forward after looking at
YOU, YOUR AUDIENCE, and YOUR
COMPETITORS and know how to better
use your own social media platforms to
effectively reach goals and your target
audience.
-Watching: monitoring audiences for what they are saying about your company/brand products/services. Also look for general topics related of importance for your audiences-Sharing: Posting photos, statuses, tweets-Commenting: replying to people and going off of your own accounts to comment on others sites. Can be on forums/discussion boards/nonprofits-Producing: taking the time to create a cool video, picture or other creative display. Examples: Pinterest, videos etc.-Curating: This is sharing of information that others have posted
-Have to know your audience and how they use social media, which outlets they are on-Create a narrow plan such as gain awareness, make a behavior change -Have a goal that will signal your goal has been reached-Always be consistent, don’t go from posting once a week to 10 times a day. Have the same poster and use the same voice, people will notice if there’s a different voice-Listen to your audience and listen to your competition-This simply means consider who is running your accounts-Samara will get to this but be sure to measure your social media success
-As you learn about each outlet, think about how they can fit into the strategic plan-If you identify your audience as Facebook users, focus on how you can use facebook to bring more awareness around your organization-If they use Twitter as well, focus on how you can use these together– don’t post the same thing on both, rather use each to complement each other.
