3. The signing of the UN charter in San Francisco The UN was created after WWII because of damage, cost, and genocide. The slaying of 6 million Jews by Hitler hearkened nations around the world that every human deserves human rights, despite where they live- so the UN set up international laws for all people of all nations called The Universal Declaration of Independence.
5. UN Symbol of Human Rights The UN gives all human basic rights such as: The right to life, liberty, security of person, and recognition no matter what race, color, or ideology. It also abolished slavery, and made torture illegal. (Source)

The UN has often been questioned by its efficiency with dealing with human right violations, especially by countries like the United States that don’t have an extra week to vote on what to do

The UN is helping out the people of Libya and the rebels by destroying any of Gadhaffi’s forces that come out of their holes. So far The UK, US, and France are involved. (source)
11. Gaddhaffi after the UN Suspended Libya from the Human Rights Council This marked the first time a country was suspended form the human rights council. Gaddhafi shows his concern for human rights in his country.
