THE TEACHER AS A
PERSON
Presented by Group 1
A TEACHER MAY PLAY MANY ROLES, BUT
EACH WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE PERSON
THAT HE IS.
MANKIND IS MORE HIGHLY INTERDEPENDENT THAN
AT ANY OTHER TIME IN THE WORLD’S HISTORY.
(Jimmy E. Nations)
IN THE AGE IN WHICH WE LIVE..
AS A TEACHER..
CAN YOU
FORMULATE
YOUR
PHILOSOPHY
AND BELIEFS
OF
EDUCATION?
one should teach?
“My goals for my
students is to
make them better
than what I am
now.”
-Mrs. Waperi
“Of course, I teach
based on relevant
curriculum. But
nevertheless, I also
want them to become
independent learners
somehow.”
“I keep my system
which if it works
I'll keep it and if
doesn't, I'll drop it.
Most of the time, I'll
ask my students if
they'd learned.”
ANALYSIS
Based on the interview that we had, I
learned that each of us has a
philosophy to adhere to and we have
notice that Mrs. Waperi is sort of
progressivist and essentialist kind.
She both let her students express
[theirs] as well as manage to
emphasize her subject matters for a
better change.
REFLECTION
Like Mrs. Waperi, I agree more on
progressivism. A teacher should
be the one who accept the
impermanence of life, and the
inevitability of changes, for the
change is the only thing that does
not change.
As a future teacher, my goal for my
students is to make difference in a
way that they will be able to know
and adapt any circumstances they
will be encountering as they
continue their endeavor in this
world.
What I really want to teach
with my students is the
relevance of the academic
needs of every students to
prepare themselves not for
the adult life but how to deal
life for today.
Perhaps, I would let them
learn by doing. More on
application method.
I've come up to many realizations.
I realized how noblest the
profession I choose, how big
responsibilities I have in the
future, as a future educator.
Besides, that's what being a
progressivist really means.
Educator
The future brightens
with each lesson
Each smile, lengthen
Each goal will reach.
That’s what an educator,
Really means.
‘’You are a teacher. What you say, what you
do, how are you to your students, your
colleagues speaks abundantly..
EXPLORE WAYS TO CREATE A MORE POSSITIVE
CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT BY MAINTAINING CAREFUL
DILIGENCE OVER THE CONTENTS OF OUR LIVES.”
