2007 was excellent red wine year. Cool conditions lead
to an unhurried ripening period, resulting in delicate and
elegant wines. The grapes were handpicked from a single
vineyard. It is vibrant red with spice and cherries on the
nose. On taste it shows red cherry fruit on the palate with
a creamy oak finish and soft tannins.
Only 250 cases were bottled.

This wine, made entirely from Chenin blanc grapes
affected by Botrytis cinerea (noble rot), was made by
legendary winemaker Günter Brözel. There are only a
few remaining bottles left of this vintage, making it a
very rare and special.

1 x 750ml bottle donated by Günter Brözel,
former legendary cellarmaster at Nederburg.
Made from fully ripe Shiraz grapes, it was
fortified with the finest grape spirit. Silky and
rich, but smooth with a slight spicy taste, it
has reached perfect maturity. Each bottle
is numbered, signed by Günter Brözel and sealed
with a wax coat. The wine should be carefully
decanted as it contains sediment.

Hempies du Toit, owner of Annandale
Called ‘Chalbert’, this wine was supplied for the
Monaco royal wedding last year. Hempies Du Toit
met Charlene Wittstock through mutual friends
during her days as a competitive swimmer. Apart
from having been an excellent vintage, he chose
the 2005 wine because it was also the year the
couple met.

Donated from the Distell Tabernakel
A Premier Cru (First Growth) wine from the
Sauternes, in the Gironde region in the southern
part of the Bordeaux vineyards known as Graves.
Wines from Château d’Yquem are characterised
by their complexity, concentration and
sweetness. When last tasted in 2011 it was
described as a lovely rich balanced wine with
honeyed yellow fruit with noticeable botrytis.

Château Margaux is one of the famous five wines
to achieve Premier Cru (First Growth) status in the
Bordeaux Classification of 1855. The estate is
located in the commune of Margaux on the left
bank of the Garonne estuary in the Médoc region
in Bordeaux.
It is a fleshy wine, well balanced, rich and mature;
very pleasant to drink today.
176. CHATEAU PALMER MARGAUX MEDOC 16

behalf of the Altia Corporation from Finland
Château Palmer is situated in the Margaux
appellation of Bordeaux. The wine produced here
was classified as one of 14 Troisièmes Cru (Third
Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official
Classification of 1855. Its wine is considered to be
one of the two most popular Third Growths.
The vineyard area extends 52 hectares, planted
47% with Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and
6% Petit Verdot.
