Journey time to central Rome is around 45 minutes
The bus : There are bus services to various areas around Rome:
To Magliana metro station - Journey time 40 minutes. Fare is around EUR€3.
Lepanto metro station - Journey time 30 minutes. Fare: Around EUR€3.
The train : There is a direct non-stop train service from Fuimicino Airport Station
to Roma Termini station.
Trains run every half hour during the day, from 06:37 to 23:37. Journey time is
around 32 minutes. Fare is around EUR€8.80.
The taxi : Yellow and white licensed taxis are available on the terminal forecourt.
Journey time to central Rome is around 45 minutes.
Fare is around EUR€40 to 50.

Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) - 32km south-west of the city centre
Ciampino (Giovan Battista Pastine) – 15 km from south-east the
city centre

General Information
In the Central Gallery, large boards supply
detailed information on arrivals and departures.
Smaller digital boards distributed all over the
station enable the traveller to move freely around.
While shopping at the Forum or having a drink in
one of its bars, 3 digital screens supply
information on the wide range of cultural events
taking place around the station or special trains.
Information on events can be also obtained
through two “digital totems” located in the Central
Gallery.

The tram :
 limited tram system
 most useful is the Number 8, which starts in Largo Argentina, for people wishing to
go to Trastevere
The taxis :
 Official Rome taxis are coloured yellow and white. Fares are reasonable and cabs
are undoubtedly the most painless way of getting around the city
 night supplement of EUR2.58 after 21h00 and this does not appear on the taximeter
The buses :
 city centre is very well served by an extensive public bus network
 provides access to all areas of the city
 Particularly useful routes are numbers 64 and 40 Express traveling between
Termini and St Peter's through the city centre, with stops in or close to Piazza
Venezia, Piazza Navona, via del Corso, Campo de' Fiori and Largo Argentina

Shuttle Tour / Hop on Hop off
An especially arranged itinerary to stop and visit the most important sights of the city. On
board you will be given headphones which will enable you to hear the description of the
monuments you are passing in your own language. During the course of the journey, you
can either stay on the bus for the entire tour or get on and off at the designated stops. The
ticket is valid for 24 hours.

 walk up to Capitol Square, designed by Michelangelo
 stop in front of the Colosseum from which point you can see the Arches of
Constantine and Tito and the Temple of Venus and Rome
 Passing the Pyramid Cestia, arrive at St. Paul's Outside the Walls to see the site

Monumental Rome
 Pass through the Via Veneto, made famous by Fellini's Dolce Vita film.
 Before reaching Via Nazionale cross Piazza della Republica with Najadi's Fountain.
 Walk through the historical centre (Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona).
 Admire Piazza Colonna so called due to the Column of Marco Aurelio.
 Visit the interior of the Pantheon which was built in the First Century B.C. with the
biggest dome in the world as requested by Emperor Hadrian.
 Continue by coach to St. Peter's Square passing Castel St. Angelo.
 Visit the Basilica of St. Peter's to admire, among other treasures, the Pieta' by
Michelangelo.

 The only public transport within the city is the efficient network of orange ATAF
buses

 Tickets work on a time basis; those valid for 60 minutes cost EUR1
 Tickets have to be stamped on board the bus as soon as you enter
 Bus drivers don't sell tickets so make sure you have one before getting on
 the best way to get around the city is on foot
 it's just a ten-minute walk from both the bus and train stations to the Piazza del
Duomo and most of the major attractions are located within a few minutes' walk from
here

Santa Maria Novella
It is located in the northwest corner of central Florence.
Many services, including two internet points, are located within the station.
 Stash your luggage at the left luggage facility on the ground floor. Cost is 3
Euros for the first 12 hours and 2 Euros each additional 12 hours.
The Pisa Air Terminal is also located within the terminal.
You can go underground to reach the CONAD grocery store, where you can
get snacks to go.
The SITA bus station is just to your right if you've exited the station and orient
yourself facing the Santa Maria Novella church.

Shopping
For designer clothing, Max Mara, Yves Saint Laurent, and Gucci, head to via de
Tournabuoni, via Porta Rossa, and via Roma.
The Piazza Repubblica and its surrounding streets for more affordable high street
shops such as Zara and Benetton.
Check out the 19th-century covered market, the Mercato Centrale on via
dell'Ariento, just north of San Lorenzo. Here you'll find everything from tripe stalls,
pasta bars and fishmongers to stands hawking clothes, bags and souvenirs.
Among the city's best buys are shoes, ceramics and other handmade goods.
Jewellery from one of the vendors on the Ponte Vecchio.

The Water buses :
 A motor boat runs every hour from the airport to Piazza San Marco and interim
destinations as well as on the Lido
 Alilaguna bus departs the airport between 06h15 and 00h10
 The fare from the airport to San Marco is EUR10 and the journey takes
approximately 1hr15mins
The Water taxis :
 A water taxi will take you directly to wherever you want to go in the city
 cost substantially more than any alternative form of transport

Venezia St Lucia
General Information
Venice’s main train station
Trains dead-end in the Stazione Ferroviaría Santa Lucia, a glaringly modern
structure that looks out of place in a city where most buildings are hundreds of
years old.
From the station building, exit via the main doors. Steps lead down to a broad
terrace alongside the Grand Canal, where you'll find the vaporetto landing and
water taxis.

 It is equivalent to its land based brethren
 The service is punctual and regular
 runs from the early morning until about midnight
 Destinations are posted on the front of each boat
 buy ticket before you travel from a Vaporetto kiosk, machine or at a tobacconists
(tabacchi)
 Tickets should be validated in the machine at the entrance to the jetty before
boarding

Shopping
In Venice the emphasis is on the stylishly chic, but don't expect any bargains
Around San Marco's you'll find the really upmarket shops. Designers Prada,
Versace and Armani can all be found on the streets that spoke off from the main
square.
This same area is good for antiques and glassware, both of which Venice is
famous for.
If you're serious about your antiques, Campo Santo Stefano is the place to head.
Venetian handmade paper makes an unusual gift or a distinctive reminder of
your visit.
Venetian glass or the fine lace that the city produces is a good option.
Murano Glass is famous the world over for its craftsmanship and clarity. You will
find fabulous pieces, both functional and decorative, throughout Venice in gift
shops.

 Sail to Murano to see how the beautiful coloured glass is made, then on to the pretty
islands of Burano and Torcello
 After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of
Sant'Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat arrives in Murano

 second stop is at the picturesque island of Burano for about 30 minutes

  • 18. 18 Santa Maria Novella It is located in the northwest corner of central Florence. Many services, including two internet points, are located within the station.  Stash your luggage at the left luggage facility on the ground floor. Cost is 3 Euros for the first 12 hours and 2 Euros each additional 12 hours. The Pisa Air Terminal is also located within the terminal. You can go underground to reach the CONAD grocery store, where you can get snacks to go. The SITA bus station is just to your right if you've exited the station and orient yourself facing the Santa Maria Novella church.

  • 28. 28 Shopping In Venice the emphasis is on the stylishly chic, but don't expect any bargains Around San Marco's you'll find the really upmarket shops. Designers Prada, Versace and Armani can all be found on the streets that spoke off from the main square. This same area is good for antiques and glassware, both of which Venice is famous for. If you're serious about your antiques, Campo Santo Stefano is the place to head. Venetian handmade paper makes an unusual gift or a distinctive reminder of your visit. Venetian glass or the fine lace that the city produces is a good option. Murano Glass is famous the world over for its craftsmanship and clarity. You will find fabulous pieces, both functional and decorative, throughout Venice in gift shops.
