2. Introduction
The aim of today's presentation is to give proposal to GM Maple Leaf cement factory about Fiberglass material for covering Wagon being utilized for transportation of cement.
The Presentation would be given in following sequence.
Project Summary
Analysis of existing system
Cost
Merits
De-merits
Analysis of Fiberglass
3. Project Summary
Replacing the existing system (Tarpaal & Parachute) by the effective Fiberglass material to minimize cost and maximize the Quality, Efficiency and Protection of coal & cement.
4. Tarpaal Analysis
Merits:
Replacement of Tarpaal is needed after every 20 Days.
Only water resistant.
De-Merits:
Special storage & chemical procedures are required for long life.
Produce pungent odor If wet.
Color gets faded quickly.
Increased weight with humidity.
Exposed to mice action.
Fire hazards and easily combustible.
Cost
Approx. Rs 35000/ wagon for 2 Return Trips.
5. Fiberglass Analysis
Life of Fiberglass exceeds 6 years if handled with care.
Cost effective as compared to other materials due to long life.
Water proof and water resistant as per required.
Easy to installation & removal if needed.
Color of choice has no restriction.
Protection from weather changing.
Requires maintenance if mishandled.
Light weight.
Fire resistant.
6. Cost Analysis
Calculation sheet (1x year)
Tarpaal or parachute
•Replacement needed after 20 days.
•Days in year =365
•So,
365/20=18.37
•No. of changes per year =aprox.18 times
•If a tarpaal cost =Rs:35000 then, 18x35000=Rs:630000/year.
Fiberglass Roof
•Replacement needed after mishandling only.
•Approx measure of wagon = 500sft
•2mm Fiberglass sheet with outer MS pipe frame 18swg with wheels & channels for sliding.
500x500=Rs250000/wagon for 6 Years.
