Fashion 2011 Trend: REBECCA MINKOFF RESORT 2012
1. Fashion 2011 Trend: REBECCA
MINKOFF RESORT 2012
Young designers looking to build their
businesses could learn a thing or two from
Rebecca Minkoff. One can see the focus put into
the brand. The collection was full of go-to
summery pieces over which the loyal Minkoff
customer can toss a leather jacket when
temperatures drop; there’s a cool bomber in
laser-cut suede(not pictured) that should fit the
bill. A sienna orange striped wrap dress that
looks like a modern sari cinched with a utilitarian
leather belt was among the highlights, but the
designer’s personal faves were the allover lace
looks, specifically an aqua minidress paired with
a matching silk shawl-lapel blazer (not pictured).
The challenge for Minkoff was how to make
the lace less girly. Then her luxury handbags
including clutches, shoulder bags and totes, were
2. toughened up this time around with gold spikes
and studs.
Pictured above are two Rebecca Minkoff dress
from the 2012 Resort show. From left to right,
we see a black and white floral print button
down long sleeve shirt dress. The fun an flirty
features are paired well with a black carefree
clutch. Then we see a simple LBD mini with
detailed hem line and boat neck collar,
sleeveless with a short shoulder bag. This outfit
3. is simplicity at its finest.
From left to right we start with the Rebecca
Minkoff flowing cream blouse , collarless with
mid wrist length sleeves, paired with red-orange
Summer short also loose fitting and light. The
outfit is finished with a matching cream
snakeskin clutch. Then we see at the right a long
version of the black and white floral print dress
with an ascending hem line and cinched waist.
4. The great thing about this line is that it can easily
go from runway to sidewalk. This is a skill that
all designers strive for. Not to mention the
clothes are effortlessly youthful and fun to look
at. In any event the Minkoff line can be found
here at Wikifashionista along with clothes from
her earlier lines as well. We like how this line
makes fashion fun and accessible for consumers
who want luxury clothing at their fingertips.
