Feng shui science
1. Feng shui Science We are in the 21st century, yet time and again i still see houses that are filled figurines of dragons, tortoise, elephant, 3 legged toad, unicorns that missed the mark to solve actual feng shui problems. Most do not even understand the root of the problem to start with. Just to illustrate using a simple case study, a house that i audited that was not done properly by the previous master. The unit is situated very near to a rubbish chute; the ex-master asked my client to put a dragon figurine on the left hand side of the main door to improve their family’s health because that is where the green dragon position 青龙位 which enhances health and benefactors. You see the root of the problem is hygiene and the foul smell. What they really need is a good air purifier that kills germs and clears the odour. Thus i say that in today’s context feng shui is a mix of art, science and psychology. Bad energies either “forms 形 (visible)” or “qi 气 (invisible)” ? or both? The first step to solve feng shui problems is identification. Is the bad energy caused by “forms” or “qi” or both. Forms are those stuff we can see it e.g. an angular (not 90 degree) wall pointing at your main door, T-junctions, convex roads. “Qi” or invisible energies are something we can feel it which is more difficult to understand. Perhaps through example is easier for you to comprehend, let’s take an example of a house that faces the hospital main door, just consider the psychology of it is already bad because only sick people go to hospital. So there is the air of “grieve” invisible 气 energies floating around that overwhelms us with sadness and pessimism. Not forgetting germs & viruses are in the air that are invisible. In this example, just having an air purifier will not do the job. The “science” & “unscience” about feng shui Timber strip layout also bad feng shui omg.
2. I have recently consulted a house and was told by my client that his previous feng shui master consider vertical timber strip lay on the balcony as “poison arrows” because the short end is pointed towards the living hall. OMG. The feng shui master advice him to re-do the balcony? Sounds crazy right? Hey, there are not that many “self-created” bad energies in the house. Try to identify it yourself why do you regard this as bad energy. When there are bad energies in the house, more often than not, feng shui masters will come up with some feng shui products that he sell to cure. Why not consider using ordinary household items to cure? For instance if the toilet door faces directly towards the bedroom door, can you construct a partition or cupboard? or changing the position of the bedroom door? or having some plants in between? or even lights? Why not consider a modern practical solution first instead of putting feng shui objects?
