5. Current Situation (Cont’d)
• Cloud Services (drop box, you send it, Files2U.com)
– Great for small volume, non mission critical file sharing
– Data ownership? Integration with LDAP/AD?
– High cost for larger deployments
– High cost for large volume of data (50GB/day +)
– Limited ability to apply business rules
– Missing point-to-point advantage (Point – Cloud – Point)
– Speed for sending over long distance
• Shipping Media (DVD, Blue Ray, USB, HD etc)
– How many hard drives can fit in the trunk of your car?
– Parcels disappear (no tracking)
– The time required to put the files on the media

6. Introducing FileCatalyst Webmail
http://www.filecatalyst.com/products/filecatalyst-webmail
FileCatalyst Webmail solves the problem of large email
attachments, enabling you to send files of any size to anybody
with an email address.
“Since using FileCatalyst, we have seen a marked improvement in file transfer
rates. The auto reconnect and resume features have also proved to be very
powerful, particularly in regions of the world where networks have frequent
outages, forcing manual resend when using traditional FTP.” —Julian Wheeler,
VP Global Media and Entertainment, Tata Communications
