 What do adult learners LOVE and HATE?
 What is the process surrounding each webcast
 What are the keys to maximizing
 Why is it important to survey your audience
postcard from MCT summit in Lisbon
KEY - Learning
Acquisition or modification of
knowledge , behaviors , skills , values, preferences
Humans , animals , plants , machines
KEY - Andragogy
Adult education raises problems whose solutions are very different
from those that are given to the training of children.
Among the specific factors of the learner particular those arising
from adulthood
KEY - Child vs. Adult
PEDAGOGY ANDRAGOGY
The child is at the beginning , he
has no knowledge. The children are
all at the same starting point
The adult has personal experiences
and education different from that
of other adults
The teacher knows the curriculum they
are in use for decades . The teacher
can use standardized methodologies.
The trainer must continually shaping
methods and programs on the group
Motivation to learn is linked to the
vote .
Motivation is related to internal
pressures
KEY - The need to know
Before starting :
They want to know WHY must learn something
So, they spend a lot of energy to EXPLORE the advantages
that will have from learning
KEY - The self-concept
• Persons responsible for their decisions .
• They want to be treated and considered as people who can manage
themselves.
• If they think that others are trying to impose them their will , they reject it.
• They are victims of the training they had received in their previous school
experiences : cross their arms , they sit down and say,
" Teach me , if you can ."
KEY - The Willingness to Learn
• Adults are willing to learn what they need to know
• Adult know how to deal with situations in their real life .
They sacrifice time they do not want and can
not LEARN TO LEARN
KEY - The motivation
It is not correct to think that adults become available to training for
better job , promotions and similars.
The springs are internal pressures :
self-esteem , quality of life , job satisfaction
“I KNOW so I CAN”
• KEY - Learning
• KEY - Andragogy
• KEY - The need to know
• KEY - The self-concept
• KEY - The Willingness to Learn
• KEY - The motivation

Write a Plan
1 2 3
Identify your students objectives.
CHUNK must be:
sequential (Synchronous / Asynchronous) + Without Time Rate Mandatory
• They are looking for specific information
• They hate necessarily need to complete your entire course in order to get it.
IDEA
Present the information in chunks STUDENTS JUMP
Chunks? Create a storyboard.
It is a great way to visualize your course. You will:
• Identify subjects that you will cover.
• Organize the sequence in which you’ll present information.
• Identify the links between different subjects and how they relate to each other.
• Plan which media sources you’ll need.
• Consider assessment tools.
Chunks - Delivery
Face-To-Face
Synchronous
Online
Synchronous
Asynchronous
captive audience or
controllable
an easily distracted, easily
bored audience that can
click away at any time.
Cognitive Partecipation
SynchronousAsynchronous
Incresed reflection and ability to process
information
Personal Partecipation
Incresed arousal, motivation and
convergence on meaning
How to Use Asynchronous VS Synchronous
When Reflection on complex issues (When
syncronous meetings cannot be scheduled (work,
family..)
Discussing less complex issues
(Getting acquainted
Plannig task)
Why Students have more time to reflect
(sender doen't expect immediate answer)
Studente become more
committed and motivated
because a quick response is expected
How E-mail, discussion board, blogs Videoconferencing, istant
messaging, chat, face-to-face
meetings.
Example (individually) ask to maintain a blog
(reflections) ask to partecipate on a discussion
board
Istant messaging to know each
other, exchanging ideas, planning
tast. lecture by videoconferencing
TIME 1 WEEK 20’ online/ 45’ face to face

Create Asynchronous Materials
Multimedia Sources
It helps your students engage more effectivelvy:
• Audio files;
• Video files;
• Photos, graphs and images;
• Slideshows.
Retention Rates
Select an LMS software.
• A learning management system provides instructors with all of the tools they need to
create a quality eLearning course.
• Manage your course
• Track your results
• Create reports
• Often include templates for course-planning, multimedia, games, quizzes and more
Information into real-world scenarios.
• How be applying the information

online video
1. Waring - HOSTILE
• When you post an online video, you don’t have a captive audience.
• You have just the opposite: an easily distracted, easily bored audience
that can click away at any time.
A large percentage of teachers believe that video adds to the quality of
a course, improves understanding of content, and increases learner
motivation – not just among students, but also among teachers
themselves.
You aren’t Steven Spielberg
• Video doesn't have to be Hollywood quality to be effective for teaching.
• It needs to be clear and brief.
• Know what you want to capture and then try to do so in the shortest amount
of time as possible.
• Gives the learner more control over how they can access and what they
access.
Tip
You can even produce a special mash-up
video for revision using a mix of the most
important video lessons.
1. Keep it short
Psychologists say that the average human sustained attention span is 20 minutes.
But for online videos, it seems to be about 60 seconds.
110’ 60’
60%40%
SHORT
(word)
STANDARD (word)
2. Good stuff in the beginning
• Most videos lose viewership overtime.
• Distracted, bored, or realize that the video is not for them.
If there’s something that you really want
people to see,
it’s best to put it in the one of the first shots.
3. Be Specific
Make sure every shot contains specific and new information.
Get useful points across, people will stop listening.

More of the audience keeps watching because this information helps them understand the benefits
they could glean from somethings.

AGENDA
AGENDA
4. Keep it personal
• He talks about his work environment and his personal experiences with
product
• The audience can automatically relate to him, so hear what he has to say.
• People are naturally interested in other human beings.
Use this to your advantage!
Spend time & money making and posting a video, you don’t want a
bored audience to ignore the fruits of your labor.
Why is it important to survey your audience!
After, you’ll do much better course
The best trainer are innovators
