Preliminary Task

2. 0:57-1:13
The first shots showAdele walking down an empty path singing to the camera from her waist up.As
there is no one around she is the main focus of the video, we need to make sure that when we record
our shots that our actor is the only one around to accurately replicate the video.The video is also shot
in black and white which makes the video more simplistic.This will again repeated in our shots.The
black and white is also related to the cover of her album 21 which is the song is off of.Where we have
decided to start our preliminary task from she is already half way through the first verse.This is the
section that is a mid shot. Once she goes into the chorus the shot changes to a close up where she
continues to sing to the camera.

3. 1:14-1:29
When the shot changes to a close up she continues to sing switching between looking into the camera
and looking away.This is appropriate for the song as she is talking about love and lost and therefore
having the close up shot shows her emotions that she is conveying through facial expressions.When
she looks away it is to show that everything is too much for her and so she is looking out to forget it
all.

4. 1:30-1:49
When she reaches 1:29 in the song the shot changes to pan around the area she is walking
though. It does a 360 shot of the Paris street she is walking through and ends up back to her
walking away form the camera. Paris symbolises the‘city of love’ and so as she is singing about
breaking up and moving on it can be related.The song and the city link through these
connotations that we have of Paris.The street she is walking through is also very empty and
there are minimal people walking around her this could be done on purpose to show how now
she is no longer in the relationship she was she is now alone.

5. 1:50-1:57
The final shots that we have to replicate isAdele walking away from the camera.We have to film
the actor walking away whilst the song is still playing.AsAdele is walking away form the camera
this may relate to the lyrics as she is walking away from the relationship that she was in and
finding a new future.
