Amazon S3 is Amazon's simple storage service that provides scalable object storage. It offers very high availability of 99.9% and supports REST and SOAP APIs. Storage pricing is $0.15 per GB-month and data transfer pricing varies based on monthly data transfer amounts and location of the transfer. S3 uses a universal namespace of buckets and object keys to store and retrieve data from its servers.
