3. The United Kingdom, consisting of Great Britain
(England, Wales, and Scotland ) and Northern Ireland ,
is twice the size of New York State. The north section
of Scotland and England’s southeast area of the British
Isles are divided by the granite Cheviot Hills. At the
same time, the Pennine of uplands within that area
expands south from the center of England going to the
northwest particularly in the Lake District.
