2. Our Song
The song we have chosen to use for our music video is Rihanna –
Love They Way You Lie (part 2 piano version). We have chosen to
use this song as it’s well known and Rihanna is a popular artist that
people would recognise. We also think that the lyrics to this song will
give us a wide range of ideas to work from and create a video to suit
it.
3. Our Concept
For our music video we will use a girl and a boy, as a couple. The
boy will be in control of the relationship and this will lead to them
arguing and fighting. We could use different locations and scenes to
show this. It will consist ofa parallel, narrative structure as the video
will have a storyline.

6. USP
Our USP is the way we are going to use a parallel structure and
represent emotions through our different scenes with the use of
impressionist.
7. Idea 1
Our first idea is to use flashbacks to create the storyline. These will
consist of memories the girl and boy once shared together. It will
highlight the difference between their relationship then and what it is
like now. We can show the flashbacks in black and white with the
use of a grainy effect and the present can be shown in colour to
make the past and the present in the story apparent.
8. Idea 2
Another idea that we could use is having a beginning, middle and an
ending. It could start focusing on the girl and her emotions. Then we
could show her and her boyfriend arguing and fighting, leading to an
unexpected ending, her poising him to end it all.
9. Idea 3
Lastly our third idea we decided was the use of flames like the
original music video to our song. We could use lit candles to
surround the girl and have her burning photographs of her and her
boyfriend, showing her emotions and how she is burning away him
and their past.
