The Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and
Friends (PASYKAF) - Registered Charity no. 525
•Established in 1986 by 21 patients with cancer,
relatives and friends
•We developed into a specialist organization that
carries out some of the palliative care activities in the
whole island

for all individuals diagnosed with cancer
4000 + cancer patients and their relatives receive care
and services from PASYKAF per year
PASYKAF Multidisciplinary Team: 55 full time employees and 15 associates,
including 2 doctors, 20 nurses, 4 social workers, 10 psychologists, 10
physiotherapists, drivers, administrators and hundreds of volunteers
A total offer of €2.200.000

•No National Health System in place yet
•However, free treatment for all cancer patients
•Hospice and palliative care services are pioneered and provided
by the voluntary sector only
