Dear ACTFL Committee Members,
This letter is to confirm that I know Fran Siracusa and have volunteered with her during
foreign language workshops. Most recently I had a chance to assist and help Fran make a
presentation for the fall conference of ACTFL/FFLA 2014. She had asked me to help her do
some research; although it was clear she had it all under control. My assistance was very, very
minimal for the massive Apps Galore presentation she hosted during the conference. I remember
her still researching, writing, tweaking well into the night prior to her presentation. She worked
tireless hours to make sure she shared the best she had to offer with her colleagues.
Fran is an excellent educator and researcher. She is creative, innovative and enthusiastic
about teaching a world language. Fran is very technology oriented. She delights in finding apps
she can use in the classroom. Her love and commitment to her students show in every
presentation I have seen her in action. From FLENEF to FFLA, Fran, year after year, continues
to learn and share with others the latest technology tools.
Fran is always prepared with her presentations. She always shows up on time, or early to
make sure all of the technology is working properly. She is someone you can count on, contact
and have a brilliant conversation about energizing the classroom via technology.
On a personal level, I have known Fran for over 3 years. I highly recommend Fran for the
ACTFL Award of Excellence in Foreign Language Instruction Using Technology with IALLT
(K-12). I know she will be an asset to ACTFL and can represent you well with the Excellence
award.
