Raftilose Synergy I protects seniors' health.
New results from a large-scale scientific study indicate that older people in particular will benefit
from foods and drinks, which contain Raftilose Synergy I, an ingredient available from Orafti. As
people get older the number of beneficial bacteria in their intestine declines, putting them at greater
risk of disease. The results of this new research show that Raftilose Synergy I combined with
probiotics helps to reverse this process, improving intestinal function and well-being by keeping the
important digestive microflora healthy, according to Orafti. The Crownalife project, a major initiative
funded by the European Union, examined the bacterial composition of the gut of healthy people aged
65 and older, in comparison with that of healthy younger adults aged 20 to 45 years old. The
researchers looked at how adverse changes in gut composition, which cause DNA damage, can be
prevented and the effects this had on well being, by adding a combination of Raftilose Synergy I and
a probiotic to the diet. The results of the study showed the level of bifidobacteria increased
significantly in the volunteers who took a supplement with Raftilose Synergy I. Besides better gut
transit, other parameters of well-being were also positively influenced.
