Is Debian better then
Ubuntu ??????

By : Gaurav Paliwal
/me = http://www.gauravpaliwal.com
This topic is even more
debatable then making
Mark Zuckerberg the
person of the year and not
Julian Assange
Decide on your own after
the “next” few slides..........
10.10 on ” 10/10/10” is
“released” {with double
quotes}
The very next moment
next door guy shouted ????
Why ???
That poor /next_door_guy
uses i945 and radeon
chipset
The glamour of 101010 has
made the i945 and radeon
chipset bug digest in
#canonical stomach
You already have reason #1
to ditch Ubuntu
But why have an affair with
Debian :P :3
Reason #1
Because its not Linux it is
GNU/Linux
Why you forget any distro
based on Linux kernel is
Linux kernel + most of the
basic OS tools from the
GNU project
So, No Linux only
GNU/Linux
Reason #2
Stability and Security
Increased stability and
security testing.
Debian is also one of the
best platform for servers
{depends on you}.
Debian {Stable} has no
bleeding edge but it
nonetheless functions well.
If you want to use
“Bleeding Edge” use the
Testing repos and /you be
set in no time.
Not to forget Debian
Testing and Unstable are
more “Stable” then those
who claims to be stable
Reason #2
Debian is an absolutely free
software.
follows all the philosophies
of the free software
community
/me use Mozilla Firefox.
Please close ur eyes for
next slide.
they even rebranded the
Firefox Iceweasel because
the original Firefox
consisted of a certain part
that was copyrighted.
Reason #3
Debian supported many
platform
Debian supported platform
          >>>>>
 Ubuntu supported platform
Reason #4
Debian is produced by a
not-for-Profit firm
Remember Reason #1 to
ditch Ubuntu
“This eliminates any
loopholes in producing
substandard products”
Reason #5
Debian is simpler to use.
*Almost out-of-box

*{Condition apply :P}

Save your pocket money.
The fact
Ubuntu is the organization
which transferred the devils
into human (#Linux) now
make them Saint

Debian has the largest number of packages offered by any Linux distribution. – By Kushal

Debian changes less:Debian’s upgrade system seems to be better and more suited for what I need in an operating system , as it doesn’t change as
frequent as Ubuntu , this way I know its going to work and be stable if I upgrade to the next major release of Debian. -By Charliebrownau

Ubuntu is too bloated and runs rather slowly on my pc. – By Nikhil

Debian way surpasses Ubuntu on the type of architecture that it will run on. that is why i prefer debian. – By Sleepy.

Debian is liberated – free as in freedom – from proprietary junk software. – By Peter

The debian can be used both for desktop, server & netbook. Ubuntu has different distro for different audience (desktop, server, netbook). – By Zahid

Debian has been built by the community. Ubuntu was heavily funded. Nothing beats a solid committed community. It’s been estimated that if you
were to pay to build Debian 4.0 it would cost around 10 billion dollars. That’s quite a community. – By Dan

switching to debian because my friend kept calling me a noon for using ubuntu :P – By
                                        Hintss
Are you ready for the
#TRANSFORMATION

Linux to GNU/Linux
 Ubuntu to Debian
Thanks for having the {HUGE} patience
         of listening to /me.
