Editor's Notes
Trying to make the lives of these three types of users as simple as possible. All with the same user experience where appropriateWill cover MAC, PC, WI and mobile devicesMobile Devices:iPhoneBBWindows MobileADMINISTRATOR – A single point of administration with the MS (for self-service & BYOC or managed machines) for all Citrix and 3rd party plug-ins on end user machines. Software Maintenance – MS will configure, upgrade, and uninstall any Citrix or 3rd party plug-in written to fit the CR platformDelivery Reporting – MS will provide delivery reports based on a number of different searchable criteriaLog Collection – If something goes wrong with the delivery on an end user machine the MS can capture logs from the client and display them to the admin.END USER – A single end user experience for all Citrix and 3rd party plug-ins. Messaging – All setup, login, and error messages for any plug-in are branded Citrix ReceiverConnection Handling – Receiver will determine if a secure connection is needed to run desktops and applications. If so, it will prompt the user to authenticate to delivery services.
SG 3.0 requires XenApp Services/PNAgent site to be set to gateway direct and the Secure Gateway to be set to “Indirect”. Receiver on devices is set to FQDNofSecureGateway.company.com.Standard Edition - On the Gateway Portal tab, click Redirect to Web Interface. If the Path field for XenApp Services for Web Interface contains an existing configuration for a Web Interface site for ICA connections on the Access Gateway, do not modify your existing configuration, but make sure that your XenApp Services site is located on the same server that is hosting the Web Interface site. If the Path field is empty, meaning there is no existing configuration for ICA connections, type /Citrix/PNAgent. In Web server, type the IP address or FQDN of the server running the Web Interface. On the Global Cluster Policies tab, select Enable logon page authentication.Advanced Edition – Configuration same as Standard Edition but with Advanced Access Control enabled. For single-factor authentication, select Active Directory, LDAP, or RADIUS (which can be used for RSA SecurID or Active Directory authentication). For double-source authentication, under Active Directory, select RSA SecurID, which can be used with either RADIUS or an sdconf.rec file to enable token authentication. Create a new logon point called FQDNofAccessGateway/CitrixLogonPoint/iPhoneas a best practice since this is the default on Citrix Receiver. Create a Web Resource called iPhonePNA, set your home pages and configure them for No Authentication. In the new logon point, configure the iPhonePNAweb resource to display highest priority. To enable users to connect, simply use the FQDN of the Access Gateway (unless you did not use iPhone as the name).Enterprise Edition – Configure authentication and session policies as normal. However, with session policies, there are specific expression you need to create where the HTTP header of the user agent must contain CitrixReceiver, CFNetwork and Darwin. All sessions must match all expressions. Turn ICA Proxy as ON in the Profile Configuration and bid the session policy to a virtual server.
For older BES servers, maximize memory throughput and
