Un check up completo bioenergetico quantistico, indolore e veloce, eseguito con un’apparecchiatura frutto di 20 anni di studi – con test effettuati su più di 10.000 persone – dell’equipe medica del professore, biologo e fisico William Nelson. Nelson è stato nominato per il premio Nobel per la medicina, la ricerca e il contributo scientifico nel campo della medicina alternativa. L’apparecchiatura, chiamata SCIO, è stata ribattezzata Gioia Bertha dopo un primo difficile e importante caso risolto. Questa tecnologia è usata da anni negli ospedali pubblici e privati di Austria, Irlanda, Germania, Inghilterra, Usa e Canada. L’apparecchiatura SCIO si basa sulle scoperte più recenti della fisica quantistica, applicate alla medicina, e già usate dalla Nasa per la diagnosi e il trattamento a distanza degli astronauti in atmosfera; secondo le quali il benessere e la salute dipendono dalla corretta comunicazione tra le cellule. Comunicazione che avviene sotto forma di segnali elettromagnetici estremamente deboli ma con una frequenza ben definita. Se questa comunicazione armonica viene disturbata (a causa dello stress, di alimenti nocivi, geopatie ecc.) il corpo perde l’equilibrio e si manifestano sintomi che possono trasformarsi in malattie. SCIO è l’apparecchiatura esistente più avanzata, in grado di rilevare i cambiamenti elettromagnetici e di fare uno screening completo prima ancora che si manifestino i sintomi. Tra le altre cose rileva: allergie, intolleranze alimentari, funghi, batteri; geopatie; il livello di minerali e vitamine; intossicazioni di vario genere; lo stato di salute degli organi e dei sistemi (nervoso, linfatico ecc.) .

The big topic of the last few years, the use of small organic molecules to catalyse enantioselective transformations. This lecture will start with proline before moving on to some of MacMillan's contributions to this field and, finally, finish with hydrogen bond catalysts and Brønsted acids.

This is the biggy, the one everyone wants to achieve. Here we will be looking at metal-based chiral catalysis. We will concentrate on bisoxazoline-based Lewis acid catalysis and then look at reductions before finishing with the ubiquitous Sharpless epoxidation and dihydroxylation.

These slides are part of a talk to school teachers. They were designed to showcase some of the applications of organic chemistry, the range of natural and synthetic products. I'm not sure how much use it is without my commentary but, as always, it seems a waste to leave it on my hard drive. The second half gave a overview of chirality and stereoisomers as this topic often causes problems with students. This second half owes a lot to an excellent paper by Robert Gawley (J. Chem. Ed. 2005, 82, 1009) and just has prettier papers. This version of the talk includes a section I removed when presenting (due to time) on artificial sweeteners.
