dedicated to providing ample activities and opportunities to our youth. At Lenhart Legal

Veteran’s Advocate
SERVING THOSE WHO SACRIFICED
Gabriel Lenhart, founder of Lenhart Legal Services, has also received and maintains his VA
Attorney Accreditation from the United States Department of Veteran’s Affairs! As such,
Gabriel has been admitted to practice in front of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and also
provides free education and assistance to Veterans applying for their Non-Service Connected Aid
and Attendance Benefits.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has a little known tax-free pension available to help
qualified veterans, spouses, and their surviving spouses pay for
home health care, assisted living, or nursing home care.
The VA Aid & Attendance & Housebound Pension is designed to provide qualified veterans and
their un-remarried surviving spouses with financial benefits outside of the traditional VA
residential system. This Non-Service Connected pension was established in 1952 under Title 38
U.S.C. and has two components, Aid & Attendance & Housebound benefits.
Estate Planning
The certainty that the only certainties in life are death and taxes has existed almost since time
immemorial. These certainties are a fundamental part of life and a person should not shy away
from these tough issues simply because they are tough. Nobody likes to think that they will die
eventually, but it is incumbent upon each and every person to plan for this event. The first and

4. Organizations
I have always found it important to give back to the community wherever I
live, this sense of “community” had always been instilled in me by my family. Whether it
was doing yard work for senior citizens in Grass Valley as a child member of Athletes With
A Cause, tutoring underprivileged children when I was attending San Diego State
University, or volunteering at the Victims of Crime Resource Center in Sacramento during
law school, I have always made it a point to help others in the community however I
can. Presently, I have the amazing opportunity to volunteer my time with multiple
organizations both local and national in character, and also get to spend time with our
youth by volunteering as a basketball, baseball, and football coach!

Gold Country Community Services, Inc. provides essential programs and
services to meet community needs and interests. Our mission is to improve the quality of
life in Western Nevada County by providing or coordinating resources that enhances the
physical, social, and emotional well being of our residents. Gold Country Services, Inc. is
committed to providing opportunities to enhance physical, social, and emotional wellness
through affordable programs, services, and facilities. We provide activities and classes to
seniors in the community, home delivered meals to those who are housebound and unable
to do so for themselves, firewood to seniors in need, and various other community
programs, services, and facilities.
United States SeniorVeterans
USSV is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting
and educating our nation’s senior veterans and their surviving spouses about the Non-
Service Connected Disability Pension with Aid and Attendance. This benefit may be
available for those needing home health care, assistedliving or skilled nursing. We are here
to provide guidance through what can often be a complex and confusing process.
USSV team relies on our seasoned VA Accredited Staff for the processing of any claims for
benefits. For those wanting assistance with filing a claim, all claims related matters are
conducted by our VA accredited staff. Jointly, we have successfully assisted tens of thousands of
deserving Veterans and Surviving Spouses in obtaining their benefits..

Pitfalls of A/B Trusts

There are many different kinds of Trusts, some more complex than others and are used for tax
benefits. While these tax benefits may have made sense for the average family in the past, due to
recent changes in Estate Tax Law, these Trusts no longer provide the tax benefits they used to
and come with a price that many families are unaware of.
In the last few months, I have had multiple A/B Trusts slide across my desk for review. While I
am able to prevent the pitfalls of A/B Trusts for my clients, others come to see me too late and
are stuck with an outdated Estate Plan drafted by their previous attorney who has since retired.
