Hello, everyone. I would like to introduce myself to this network and spread word about myself because you have seen my first PowerPoint upload.
I want to take the time to progress my public recognition even further, by showing off my own profile, as well as what I want to do.
I've split up the process of what I want to do into five very important stages that you can also use it for your advantage. I'm describing each stage and what I've done, what I'm doing, and what I want to do.
Please take the time to follow this as well as do what's at the end of this presentation, which is simply following me on some sites. Anyway, have fun and please leave comments!

Sharing My Public Profile
1.
2. Hi, everyone!
What I want to share with you guys is a
PowerPoint to introduce myself to the
SlideShare community. It’s not just for the
purpose to feel welcome, but also to start
gaining some public relationships.
So, let’s get started with the topic, shall we?
4. Who Am I?
I am a full-time English Canadian student
at an English college outside Montreal,
taking courses in Computer Science and
Mathematics.
19 years old and was diagnosed with
Asperger’s syndrome when I was two.
I want to go to university to become one
of the new generation video game
producers and development directors.
5. What am I to address here?
Since I am always new to websites, it’s about time I work on my
public relations, so let me give you a heads up on what websites
I’ve joined and what my public profile is.
I am also going to briefly share with you some of my works
before I take the time to announce a big project I’m doing that
many of you should take the time and spread the word on.
“I don’t want my thoughtsto die with me. I want to havedone
something.”
7. Follow this pyramid:
Get Yourself
Acquainted
to the Community
Work on multiple small
projects or get in contact with
other communities to have the
public know you better.
Eventually, build yourself a big project and
share your own matters in the process to
keep your customers engaged. Use
advertising or press releases if necessary.
Find a way to design and build a team project with
the community. Negotiate with your managers or
experts in public relations and publishing.
Finally, reach yourself out to national, international, or
celebrity status, by bringing everything you got to the
public.
This is the way on how to build your recognition: start from the top, then work your
way through, one step at a time, down to the bottom. You should not skip steps,
because some consequences will result that affect your own realistic being.
Only the top is where I’m at, and I want to reach the bottom.
8. Let me share with you guys on how
this pyramid is going to work out.
Some procedures have already been
done, but a lot of work is yet to be
completed.
After the last step, I’m going to tell you
why I did this PowerPoint.
9. Step 1: Get Yourself Acquainted to the
Community.
Hi, my name is Gregory Desrosiers. I will be working on many different
websites to build my public profile to life and earn rewards at the end.
I do have multiple problems, especially when I am totally different
from people based on my mental symptoms, but I should always
remember what Temple Grandin says publicly: “Different… Not LESS.”
And of course there are things that interest me, but I don’t want to talk
about them because it is a case of spoilers and by doing so, with
getting many opinions, I feel it’s going to lessen my interest out and
ruin what I wanted.
10. Step 1: Get Yourself Acquainted to the
Community.
Here’s my profile:
• Been a YouTube user since July 2006, with the first video, called “Locomotion
Slideshow” uploaded in July 2007. (known as Bammer2001)
It was a 12-photo slideshow of Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion, a 2004 computer game that was
part of my interest to his Transport Tycoon games when I found one photo of it after looking
up Airport Tycoon 3 on Google.
• Joined Facebook in June 2009 and have been using it for four years.
It is a cure for social dependency and gaining advantages of friend support and community
spread. I run two pages there, with one being the e-book I’m going to discuss in a few
moments.
• Have a Blogger site (http://www.gregorypdesrosiersmontreal.blogspot.ca/)
• Have a Twitter account (@GregoryDes)
• New member of SlideShare *that’s the social network you’re on right now, where
you see my PowerPoint], Autism Support Network, Lulu.com, Smashwords.com,
Hire A Reporter Online (HARO)
11. Life Achievements:
• Invited for a scholarship meeting based on my academic performance for
the Fall 2012 semester at college
• Won a $100 bursary for participating in a variety show in February 2011,
performing a lip sync of Justin Bieber’s Pray with the video in the
background
• Performed a lip sync of the original Pokémon anime Theme Song in
September 2010.
• Won the School Champion medal for participating in the CMC Pascal
Contest hosted by the Center of Education for Mathematics and
Computing at the University of Waterloo.
• Received certificates for academic performance, as well as a small trophy
for supporting my elementary school principal in 2006.
Step 1: Get Yourself Acquainted to the
Community.
12. Step 1: Get Yourself Acquainted to the
Community
Hobbies and Interests:
• Computer gaming (Recent Games played: Carmageddon, Duke Nukem 3D,
OpenTTD, Quake, and Quake II)
• Social Networking (Facebook and Twitter [Facebook used most often])
• Walking and Sightseeing
Interests I can’t reach yet but will soon:
• Vacations (for example, Magog, Quebec; Plattsburgh, New York; Chicago,
Illinois; New York City)
• Hanging out with my friends at entertainment places
• Sports (beach volleyball, soccer)
• Buy sedentary products, especially from the United States
• Enjoy night outs to restaurants, video arcade parlors, malls, sites, and
attractions
• Buy new gaming systems and build a homemade computer, with a $3000
budget, including the purchase of Windows 8® Professional.
13. Step 1: Get Yourself Acquainted to the
Community
Details about JAVA Programmer:
• Have taken three programming courses in JAVA at college, with the most
successful one being JAVA Programming Level 2.
• Have learned variables and literals, decision structures, loops, methods,
increment and decrement operations, custom classes, inheritance and
polymorphism, interfaces, basic GUI applications, event listeners, more GUI
components, data structures, recursion, and sorting.
• Designed a basic Swing shooting game in April 2013
[send me a message through one of the contacts at the end of this presentation to see how you can
try out my basic game.]
• I want to learn more programming languages to expand my knowledge in
application development for computers, including C++, Visual Basic, C, Ruby,
and today’s computer game programming languages!
• Curious question: what programming language do I need to use to design an
application where once compiled, it becomes a .EXE file? And what are the
appropriate tools to develop them, aside from Eclipse IDE?
14. Hello world!
public class HelloWorld
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
System.out.println(“Hello world! I am Gregory” +
“ Desrosiers; come join me!”);
}
}
Output:
Hello world! I am Gregory Desrosiers; come join me!
15. Countdown to Detonation (using TNT)
Program Technique: Recursion
public class RecursionMainWithCounter
{
static byte counter = 10;
public static void main(String[] args)
{
if (counter >= 1)
{
javax.swing.JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Steps " +
"left to detonation: " + counter);
counter--;
main(null);
}
else
javax.swing.JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "BAM! " +
"Hey, where's all that iron? I need to eat some" +
" in order to mine some!");
}
}
16. Step 2: Work on Many Small Projects
and/or Get in Touch with People
• Published more than 40 blogs since last July [only gained
more than 10,000 pageviews]
• Uploaded more than 500 YouTube videos
Most of them have been deleted because of Content ID, and many of the remaining are still
vulnerable.
• Have more than 400 friends on Facebook
• Only less than 50 followers on Twitter
• +180 YouTube subscribers
• Developed a speech at Champlain College Saint-Lambert
delivered on May 1st, 2013 [on Asperger’s syndrome; 40
people showed up in the presentation.]
17. Step 2: Work on Many Small Projects
and/or Get in Touch with People
You have seen different videos uploaded by Freddie Wong, right?
Well, unfortunately, I don’t have the equipment to produce fine films like his.
Not even the updated software I require for the task.
I have taken the time to start following more users on Twitter and Google+.
The spread of my newest blogs will help me bring more fans in; if only if I can
learn from you on how to get more liked and followed by communities.
Nethertheless, I’ll see what the web can offer me.
Please be sure to tell me what Google communities, Twitter users, and
Facebook pages I can spread my word on becoming publicly accepted with a
lot of rewards!!
18. Step 2: Work on Many Small Projects
and/or Get in Touch with People
I have posted a tweet to Mercedes Rose, the voice actress of Princess
Rosalina in Super Mario Galaxy, and I did get an answer from her. She’s still
open to get tweets from her supporters.
I do occasionally write my own posts to both of Rovio Entertainment’s
Facebook Pages: Angry Birds and Bad Piggies. They do reply, as in I am in their
own world! (you have my gratitude, Mr. Hed!)
Still, this isn’t sadly enough for me to welcome myself to the real world. I
haven’t gotten in touch with anyone on the Autism Support Network, nor
posted many writings because I’ve only signed up last week before this was
uploaded.
19. What YouTube video is the most
popular on your channel, currently?
Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow Sounds Collection
41,000 views, 180 likes, and over 100 comments.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akx32zLD3Pg
This video has the cries for each of the 151 Pokémon found in Red, Blue and
Yellow Versions.
Enjoy watching!
20. Step 3: Build a Big Project
This is where I’m presenting to
you a big project I’m doing.
I am working on a new version
of my e-book, The Asperger
Computer.
[This is because through a dispute I had with a Facebook
group called “The Asperger Computer” because of my
television interview, I have learned that the group won’t
accept my e-book at all. Even worse, no one has brought a
copy of my e-book for the past month; I definitely want to
make money, so I have no choice but to do a rewrite]
It’s best if you please tell me what you
think about my e-book cover on the right
side!
21. Step 3: Build a Big Project
“The Asperger Computer: A Self-Published Guide on Asperger’s Syndrome and Multimedia”
will have the following features in the new version:
• More than 160 sections to read in over 120,000 words and 14 chapters
• Topics on Asperger’s syndrome (including my part and life issues), social stigma, my
talented knowledge, multimedia, education, friendships and both hobbies and interests
• Prologue and Epilogue included
• Full 4,000 word short story at the beginning [available on my Blogger site for free!]
• Full “Photographs” section with more than 10 photos and associated captions for you
to see!
• Custom-designed cover page using Adobe Photoshop!
• Developed for distribution on ePub and MOBI; you control how big your font wants to
be!
• Carefully formatted using appropriate formatting guides to ensure best results upon
conversion!
22. Step 3: Build a Big Project
The topics on what knowledge I have will include JAVA (programming
language), mathematics, physics and chemistry.
As for multimedia, I’m going to talk about pop culture music from the music
industry, video games, and mention some people! Pop culture music will
include Pink’s Raise Your Glass, Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi, and Katy Perry’s
Firework!
The Big Bang Theory, Freddie Wong, and YouTube user Chuggaaconroy will be
in the e-book! I am also giving out special text about my grown-up interest to
Nintendo and also, my superficial interest to Angry Birds, with some text for
Rovio Entertainment in Finland!
23. Step 3: Build a Big Project
In terms of public matters, I have ran a $10 Facebook advertising campaign
for my associated e-book page. My ad did reach more than 8000 people, but
only less than 40 people actually liked my page.
I am also going to take the time to spread my page across various
communities, especially through Google+.
There’s still a lot of work to be done in terms of trying to get my e-book out
there, and that’s where I will need everyone’s help. I want to see how you, as
my viewer, publicize yourself into the real world before you sell out your
project to the people, because no one will ever buy my e-book if I don’t have
an audience to fulfill!
24. Here’s something cool:
On the photo to the right,
that’s me being part of the
group that sang the
original anime theme song
from Pokémon. God,
what a brilliant
performance I did there!
25. Step 4: Team Project and Negotiation
Unfortunately, I don’t have a project right now where I have to
work in teams. But that doesn’t stop me from attempting to
have negotiations in public relations and publication.
The problem is, as of right now, I am running on financial aid, so I
cannot use some of that money to ask for an advice from a
publicizing expert or a literary agent.
All I can do is publish public relations and find ways on building
my audience with my communities for free.
26. Step 4: Team Project and Negotiation
Publishing numerous blogs on my Blogger site should do the
trick. The problem is, I am too limited with what I want to type
and should realize there are so many topics out there I can
discuss.
Please tell me what topics you want me to bring up on Blogger
because I want to really engage my audience to check out my
stuff and then eventually sell my e-book out.
27. Step 5: Reaching out to National,
International, or Celebrity Status
As I succeed in becoming a successful person with AS who really
wants to see the good side and have so much reward, I want to
build up my recognition through conferences, speech deliveries,
and many different interviews.
I even want to meet up with certain celebrities, especially Katy
Perry since she has already helped an autistic girl out. [Jodi
DiPiazza]
So, the important line is, don’t leave an individual person with AS
down; help him or her out!!
28. Why did you made this PowerPoint?
Simple: to build an audience for my e-book by
presenting where I’m at and what I want to
show.
I think this was worth a shot for me to think
about you people so, so there you go! I hope
you were entertained with this!
