Notas del editor
The 2012 Fall Product Sale is a quick, in and out easy sale for troops to make start up money for their troop. Last year, over 3500 girls participated in this sale councilwide and they were able to make over $85,000 troop profit money. It is extremely important that all troops participate in the sale.
The mascot this year is the flamingo. Can you answer this question?
The Fall Product Sale is one of the main reason we are able to offer financial assistance to girls that could not otherwise afford Girl Scouting. It teaches girls valuable life business skills as well.
There are several ways that girls may participate and everything they need is found in one packet.
We would encourage girls to participate in all 3 ways. Incentives and troop profit are calculated on all 3 aspects of the sale.
Another trivia question –
Girls that have participated in this sale have learned business skills that will be guaranteed to help them in their everyday decisions.
This program offers great learning opportunities for the girls throughout all the online links and materials they will receive.
The next slides will walk you through all activities which can be found on www.whatcanagirldo.com.
The next slides will walk you through all the items in the girl’s packet of materials.
This is a sample of the nut/candy order for each girl.
Inside the girl packet parents will also find the flyer that promotes ONLINE participation.
Here’s a sample of the magazine catalog that customers may choose to order from.
Also found in the girl’s packet is the address ‘STEP 2’ booklet. Troops make $3 shop credit for every booklet filled out. Please use BLUE or BLACK ink. Addresses must be complete and correct.
You need to add this form to each girl’s packet and make sure parent’s sign these before girl can participate in the sale. You keep these forms until the end of the sale. Council will need these back if you have a parent that does not pay.
Next we will walk you through all the incentives and products that are offered this year.
All nuts/candy are manufactured at this warehouse.
It’s a state of the art facility specifically opened to make chocolate items for over 80 Girl Scout councils.
GSUSA has completely approved all the new packaging found on all our products this year.
A real mail box that you can actually use. What a great tin this year!
We also will offer this lovely library holiday tin. This is the last year of the three year series. This would be an excellent teacher gift!
Added to the $7 items is the ever popular Pistachios. Sure to be a big hit!
These bears are so cute and so creamy, everyone will love them.
Another new items is the dark chocolate mint penguins. These will also be a huge hit this year!
For those customers seeking more of a healthy alternative snack, they can try this new product for only $5.
And we have all the returning $5 favorites as well. Remember, troops will make 15% on all items sold.
Customers can also purchase “Nuts for Troops overseas”. They pay $5 – troops get the profit – council ships directly – Girl Scout leaders never have to touch.
This is an interesting question…..
900 girls used the online link last year --- they clearly sold so much more product by marketing magazines and nuts/candy online
From the link, the participating girl/parent will arrive at the registration page. Here the participants information is entered. This is needed even if the Girl participated last year, because the information is not saved each year. More the one girl/sister can be entered under one email address. The girls can each send their own emails.
This is the form that the leaders will turn in showing their girl’s online orders to get the credit.
We are offering very cool interlocking patches this year for the girls
Remember…..all incentives are cumulative meaning if a girl sells $550 she would be entitled to get everything below that level as well. Both magazines and nuts/candy combined dollars!!!!!! Girls should circle the incentive on the back of the order card indicating which incentive she would like.
This is the online program that leaders will enter all their girl orders.
Everyone has a unique log in which you should obtain from your Service Unit Fall Product Sale Manager. Troop passwords are wilderness.
You can find messages from the council or from your Service Unit Fall product sale manager at the home page.
Make sure you update all information for your troop. If you are an older girl troop and you choose WITHOUT INCENTIVES, make sure you update your troop at this screen.
Just follow the steps on the Girl Order Page.
You will need to enter the incentives as well.
Click YES to save one girl’s order
Once you are finished entering your girls and you are sure there will be no changes, then click SUBMIT. If you don’t SUBMIT, your Service Unit Fall product sale manager will SUBMIT for you.
You can also use this system to keep track of payments made.
Use this report as a receipt for your parents. Print 2 copies and they sign both. You keep one, they keep one.
At Service Unit Training, troops must complete front and back of Troop Product Manager Agreement in order for a troop to participate.
3 Service Unit’s piloted this new system last cookie sale. Here’s what they said about it.
