[ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This WebQuest was designed as a project for an Educational Technology Course at Colorado State University. The course familiarizes students in the Teacher Licensure Program with the latest technology and teaching tools for the classroom. The primary objective of this WebQuest is to familiarize students with the basic food groups, adequate nutrition, and other aspects of healthy living. They will do so by completing a variety of tasks involving the MyPryamid tool and other educational resources on the web. Once they have completed the assignments students should have a good knowledge base on food groups, proportions, and healthy lifestyle practices, while demonstrating their knowledge of building a brochure on Microsoft Publisher. 11. [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This lesson was designed for 7 th grade Health classes to utilize during their nutrition unit. It will help students understand that being healthy is about more than just diet, and also encompasses the many lifestyle choices an individual must make for themselves. The lesson could also be used in Family and Consumer Sciences courses such as Teen Living or Teen Choices, as nutrition and wellness are incorporated into these topics. Learners should be provided with basic information about the food groups, proportion sizes, and diet and exercise prior to beginning the WebQuest to guide them in their learning. This is meant to be an assignment to demonstrate understanding of the material as well as teach students to utilize reliable resources on the web for health and nutrition information.
