2. Dilemma
• Students struggle to write science journals
because for a lot of them writing is a difficult area.
I often forget to have students journal their ideas
because of the limited amount of time, however; I
do want to learn about what misconceptions
students have as well as how much they are
learning from our projects and labs. I want them
also to gain feedback on their ideas from their
peers as well as myself.
3. Science blog
• Students will be using a blog to answer and
discuss science topics so there will be a
running record of everything they are saying
as well as probing questions from other
students and staff members. Students will
be asked to write up their ideas on the
science blog. They will answer questions
based on video’s that have been uploaded
to the blog, pictures of scientific ideas, and
news articles. Each student will make
comments on another students blog.
