Dark Tourism is not hugely known, however it is becoming more popular as this strange and fascinating tourism market continues to grow. With top Dark Tourism sites such as the Nazi Extermination Camp in Poland, and guided tours of the trail of the Yorkshire Ripper, it is understandable how this type of Tourism is seen as highly inappropriate by most people, and even questionable to what kind of person would enjoy seeing such places, on the other hand these sites can be looked upon as something to educate ourselves with, and to understand and be aware of the tragedy's from the past.

Superstition, myths and beliefs Another side to Dark Tourism, a side which can even be quite fun to experience, includes Superstition, and places which are believed to have some kind of myth behind them.A good example of this would be The Derby Ghost Walks- A place which is said to be one of the most haunted places in the region, explorers may even get a chance to witness ghostly happenings! There are also ‘Where Dracula Walked’ tours available to go on in Whitby, where it’s believed Dracula first landed in Britain on Whitby shoreline. They are highly recommended and are said to be a great, thrilling experience.
