2. Netiquette is a list of rules and proper behavior required for the internet. One basic rule of netiquette is to remember that you are dealing with real people online. The internet is not just “pretend”. A flame is when someone sends rude or offensive emails to another person. A flame war is when a person types in a rude message and sends it. Then the person receives this offensive message and posts another rude comment back. This can continue for a long time. Avoid flame wars by treating everyone with respect and manners and good behavior. The only information that should be given out on the internet should be your nickname, that has nothing to do with your real name and that doesn’t have your real name in it. Information that shouldn’t be given out would be your address, your phone number and any other personal information.
