Indian Railways has created a special safety fund to replace overaged assets like tracks, bridges and rolling stock within 6 years. The safety plan focuses on five areas - personnel, management, methods, machines and money. Modern training aids for personnel and new technologies like anti-collision devices are being implemented to improve safety while reducing human errors. The plan aims to enhance safety and productivity through targeted investment in critical infrastructure.

12. Consequential train accidents include train accidents having serious repercussion in terms of loss of human life, human injury, loss to Railway property or interruption to Rail traffic. Collision, Fire in train, trains running into road traffic at level crossings, derailment and accidents of miscellaneous nature are included in consequential train accidents.
