  1. Show title slide. Westminster traditionally a library authority with strength in Information Services. Until 10 years ago information services largely uncoordinated, with in effect 2 central reference libraries, each monolithic in scope 1997 Information Strategy introduced, developing complementarity, reducing duplication, and democratising access Community Development Librarian and Information Development Librarian posts working together to improve the effectiveness of central information resources and reduce the dependence of smaller libraries on them Development of electronic information services a central plank in the strategy - shifting the collections emphasis to services, and making the collections of the central libraries more accessible to customers remotely.
