3. Hungarian Chamber of Engineers
The HCE have 19 professional branches
(e.g. building, structural, protection of
environment, geotechnics, electrical, water
management, installation, etc.) and 19
local branches.
The almost 20,000 members of the HCE
represent the domestic engineering base.

• Could be an intellectual centre and would
deal with different questions of the
EUSDR.
• The HCE role could be to make the
regions more competitive, bringing the key
sectors or branches together to enhance
development.

The challenge of the EUSDR for the HCE
could be to find the actions and projects
which will enhance the development of the
region in a sustainable way.
Possible role of the HCE:
Project proposals, Representation of
interest, Information, Partner coordination,
Action, Campaign, Programme.

The Water Management branch of the HCE
established a working group supporting the
implementation of the EU SDR.
Water Framework Directive is one of the key issue
of the EU SDR.
According to the Water Framework Directive
definitions two sub-basin (Danube and Tisza)
coordinators was nominated.

• Main objectives:
• to focus on EU SDR Action Plan,
• to support tendering activity
• lobbying for local interests
• to enhance small enterprises,
• dissemination of information
• to promote integrated water management,
• to support the Tisza valley initiative.

The working group issued an appeal to the
professional branches of the HCE.
The member of the working group will take
part on the local chamber presidential
meeting to give information about the
implementation processes of the EU SDR.
The working group needs information and
seeks direct contact to the priority areas
coordinators!
