The course can be pursued following successful completion of Class 12 in Science, with the mandatory subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and the third being either Mathematics or Biology or both depending on the course.

5. BSc Majors: BSc is structured such that the First year a student takes up 3-4 subjects and over the next two years specializes in the subject of his/her interest dropping out redundant subjects. A student is said to Major in a subject he has studied most. For instance: A student begins his BSc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the First year and specializes in Physics over the Next two years dropping out Chemistry and Mathematics then he is said to Major in Physics. BSc Honours: An honours degree refers to a very high academic standard than a pass degree. In some cases it could also mean an extended period of study. An Honours degree is also considered as a benchmark of a students competency in a particular subject.
