The Accelerator Program of The Hatch helps startups finalize their business plans for launch and funding.
In our 13-week Virtual Program, startups spend a week at our Gurgaon or Chandigarh offices for a review and strategy planning session. After the review & strategy session, startups can operate from their own cities and offices, and the interaction with the mentor will be done via regular calls and occasional in-person meetings.
Startups also have the option of joining our on-campus accelerator program, in which they can operate out of our 25,000 square feet facility in Chandigarh.

3. Mentoring, funding, incubation and resources
for high-potential startups
Who should apply?
The Hatch Startup Accelerator Program is designed specifically for concept and/or
prototype stage startups that need assistance in creating a good business plan and
business case. We typically work with ‘power-point stage startups’ and we help them
convert their ideas into a sound business plan and a business case.
As part of the Startup Accelerator Program, a member of The Hatch team and/or a member of
the mentor panel will engage with the startup during the period of engagement. The mentor
may join the advisory board / board of the shortlisted startup in his/her individual capacity.
The goal is to help high-potential startups with the planning and operational insights of more
experienced entrepreneurs and mentors.
Model of engagement
While The Hatch is a not-for-profit organization, it has to be a self-sustaining entity. Hence The
Hatch takes 2% equity in the startups for Virtual Program and 3% equity for the On-campus
Programs. The Hatch shares this equity with the anchor mentor.
By the end of the program, The Hatch may invest up to Rs.10 lacs in the startup, and also
showcase it to angel investors and our investment partners, for funding up to Rs.1 crore. The
startup is however free to access capital through other sources or other angel groups too, if
they are able to get a higher valuation.
Process
• The selection committee of The Hatch will review proposals and recommend shortlist
startups for the Startup Accelerator Program
• The Hatch will then nominate a mentor to work with the startup
• Once activated, the startup will be featured as a portfolio company of The Hatch
• The Hatch secretariat will do a monthly follow-up with the mentor and the startup and provide
assistance wherever appropriate, possible and necessary
