Marc Isambard Brunel was a French civil engineer born in 1806 in Portsmouth, England. He was educated at Lycée Henri-IV and University of Caen. Brunel worked as a civil engineer specializing in structural engineering. Some of his most significant projects included the Great Western Railway and Clifton Suspension Bridge in Great Britain. Brunel died in 1859 at the age of 53 in England.
