Conventions Flashing images Piano music Black and white Conventions in the opening titles of this film are typical for the genre of a thriller, but also have a few twists. For example, the synthesized piano. This is a modern technique, which is used to scare the audience into wondering what the mysterious sounds are.
Sounds During the titles, the few sounds you can hear are the piano, synthesizer, and dripping noises. These are all eerie and old style noises, which lead the audience to think about what these sounds may symbolise. Old is often a symbol for ghosts, spirits and the dead, especially in thriller movies
