2. GALILEO’S BIRTH AND
DEATH DATE
Galileo was born on the
15th of February 1564 in
Pisa, Italy.
Galileo died on the 8th of
January 1642 in Arcetri,
Italy.
3. GALILEO’S TELESCOPE
Galileo made his first telescope in
1609. He didn’t really invent the
telescope. It was actually created by a
Dutch spectacle maker,(Hans
Lipperhey,) but when Galileo found out
he made his own. His magnified objects
twenty times, where as the first one
could only magnified objects three
times. Over time Galileo slowly
improved his telescope.
4. GALILEO AND THE SUN
For years people thought the sun orbited around the Earth.
Nicoulas Copernicus made a scientific guess that the Earth
revolved around the Sun. A few years after Nicoulas’s death,
Galileo was born. In 1610 Galileo used his telescope to confirm
Nicoulas’s hypothesis. The Earth actually revolved around the
Sun instead of visa versa. He also discovered the moon has
creators. This to he discovered with his telescope.
6. THE PENDULUM
The pendulum was discovered by Galileo.
The way he discovered the pendulum, is
that one day Galileo was bored , he was
sitting in a church, and he saw the
candelabra swinging, that gave him the idea
of the pendulum. With the pendulum he
made the pendulum clock, to tell time
more accuartly. The pendulum also came
into play in many other inventions.
7. WHAT WOULD TODAY BE
LIKE WITH OUT GALILEO’S
DISCOVERIES
If Galileo hadn’t made his discoveries we wouldn’t know the Earth
isn’t the center of the universe, we wouldn’t have a pendulum, or the
pendulum clock, and finally we would know little about the solar
system.
