4) how did you use new media
1. 4) How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
2. Construction While making our video we used a variety of technology to do so. The next slides will explain the type of technologies we used.
3. DV and HD Cameras Last year we used the DV cameras to do our thrillers but this year to get the best quality for our music videos we used the HD cameras. Using the HD cameras made our look more professional and using them made our videos come out in excellent quality.
4. Imovie VS Final Cut Express Imovie was the editing software my group members and I used to edit our thriller last year. This year we used Final Cut Express. This was much better than imovie because it allowed us edit our music video in more complex and exciting ways. Even though we found it a bit hard to use at first once we understood it, we found it really easy and very good for editing our video to make it as good as it is. It has made our video look more professional.
5. Phones We used our phone to take images of what we did while we were filming and we also used our phones to save the song that we were using in our video. To add our images to our blog or to edit our images on Photoshop we used our phones Bluetooth to send them to the imacs.
6. Planning and Research My group used a lot of different technology to do our research and planning when we were gathering ideas for our video.
7. Unsigned.com We used unsigned to find our artist and our song to us for video. The site is used for unsigned artist to post their music for people to listening to. This site has music from very genre of music and from hundreds of artists.
8. YouTube We used YouTube to get the song because we had a bit of problem when we were trying to contact the artist that made the song we wanted to use for our video. YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos. We also used YouTube to find our like artist and to like a song and a video that was similar to ours. In addition we used it to get some ideas for our video because YouTube has videos that have features we wanted in our video. When we finished our video we upload it on YouTube for people to see it and comment on it to say if they liked it or not.
9. Survey monkey We used both these websites to find out what kind of music videos people like and what they like to see in a music video. This helped us to get a lot of ideas of what to put in our video. We use survey monkey to do a questionnaire to find out what people liked about professional music videos and what they would want to see or channel about any of these videos.
10. FaceBook We used Facebook to find out more information on what people liked about music videos and what they would like to see in music videos. After we had finished our video we put it on Facebook so that people could view it, comment and let us know what they liked about it and how we could improve on it.
11. Evaluation For our evaluation we used Blogspot to get ideas from the students from previous years. This helped us to answer some of the question we found a bit difficult. We also used Slideshare because it allowed us to present information in a more modern and exciting way.
